The ski socks are made using a special 200 needle machine. This allows for a dense knit to provide warmth while still maintaining the ultra-light properties of the ski socks. Very thin yet surprisingly warm. Make my ski boots fit much more comfortably. After a full day, they still did not drop down
Maybe I should have realized when it says "ultra light", that means that the socks are REALLY thin. I was pretty surprised at just how thin these are. I'm not entirely confident that these will really keep my feet all that warm when snowboarding...we'll see. I wore them for a bike ride at about 40 degrees F and that was fine...colder than that is questionable.Update: I think I've found what these are actually good for. I went out for another bike ride at 33-34 degrees and I used these as a base layer sock with another pair of socks on top. That actually worked out quite well...my feet stayed plenty warm that way. Because they're so thin, my feet didn't feel crammed/crowded in the show with the 2nd pair of socks. So I'll say for that purpose these socks did the job and were just right.
